Sample Of Writing: Most seventh years were thrilled to finally be boarding that scarlet train for their last year as Hogwarts. But that summers event had taken there toll on Amelia Greenwood. She wasn’t filled with joy or crying her eyes out because it was her last year. She really showed no emotion at all, she simply didn’t care anymore. If she was to walk past a lake with a poor helpless kid drowning she wouldjust walk right by as if everything was fine. What could’ve possibly happened to make this Hufflepuff so cold? Well it was what didn’t. Both Amelia and her twin brother Michael Greenwood had been in a car crash that summer. She was sitting right beside him and he died and –obviously-she had not. Amelia had never thought much of that before her mom had come and asked that hurtful question. If she was sitting right beside him then why didn’t she die too? That was when she had finally lost it. Grades no longer mattered neither did her appearance or what people had thought of her. She had stopped combing her hair, started dressing in all black and was too honest for her own good. You might not think this was much of a difference if you didn’t know what she was like before, but to knowwhat she was like you would have to know what Michael was like too. Well Michael was the kind of guy that took charge, got into all kinds of trouble, never shut-up and was extremely honest. Amelia just went along with Michael, got into the trouble that he got into and barely talked since he talked for her and always told you what you wanted to hear. Amelia Greenwood Boarded the train an hour before it was to depart dressed in black cargo pants and a black long-sleeved shirt. Her knotted dark brown hair hung in her light blue eyes. Normally her and her brother would’ve been in a frenzy finishing homework that they had ‘forgotten’ to do and packing at the last minute instead of the night before like they were suppose to do. Why did she leave for the train so early? Well there was a silence in her house that aloud her to think about things she didn’t want to think about. The crash would reply in her mind and the question would echo through her head. Having to deal with that silence for a whole three months she had to get away from it as soon as possible. Amelia headed to the back of the train where not many people went so she her compartment wouldn’t be flooded with people but enough so she didn’t have to spend hours by herself. Finding a compartment she sat down and started to stare aimlessly out the window, not even bothering with her trunk. She didn’t really know why she thought Hogwarts was going to be better. In her case it should be worse. There would still be that silence without Michael yapping in her ear. Reminders that he was gone around every corner. Stares from people to chicken to come up to say sorry or ask her how she is doing. Or the constant presence of the people who did come up and say sorry when they really couldn’t care less. What a wonderful year at Hogwarts this was going to be.
